Keep those lips looking lush and luscious with our aftercare tips

Day 1 - 3


  • Gently blot lips with a clean tissue to absorb lymph fluid.

  • Clean lips with water and mild soap, then pat dry.

  • Apply healing ointment (Aquaphor or similar) frequently to keep lips moisturized.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Lips may appear darker and swollen initially.

  • Lymph fluid discharge may occur.

  • Tenderness and sensitivity are normal.

Day 4 - 7


  • Continue applying healing balm as needed to prevent dryness.

  • Keep lips clean and avoid touching them with unclean hands.

  • Drink through a straw to avoid contact with lips.

  • Avoid makeup on lips.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Lips may start to flake and peel.

  • The color will appear patchy or uneven during this time.

  • Scabbing will continue; avoid picking.

Day 8 - 14


  • Keep lips hydrated, applying balm as necessary.

  • Avoid exfoliating or picking at peeling skin.

  • Stay away from the sun or tanning beds

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Peeling should mostly be complete by now.

  • The color will start to settle in, but it may look lighter.

  • Itchiness may occur as healing finishes.

Day 15+


  • By now, the healing process should be almost complete.

  • Keep lips protected with SPF and moisturized for the best color retention.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Final color will be visible, but remember it can take up to 6 weeks for full results.

  • Protect lips from sun exposure to maintain color.
